Roundtop's 2026–27 Winter: What's Already on the Calendar Before the Lifts Start Turning

Roundtop Mountain Resort has already set the date for its biggest winter night. The 10th Annual Ullr Fest is on Saturday, December 5, 2026, with a bonfire, Tröegs beer and a Viking helmet contest at the tubing area. Opening day for skiing hasn't been announced yet.

That gap shapes how a Lewisberry winter gets planned this year. You can fill your calendar with the parts that are already set and leave opening day open.

Ullr Fest is the first fixed date, and it doesn't need snow

Roundtop and Tröegs Independent Brewing host Ullr Fest together. Admission is free, and the gates open at 4 p.m. on December 5. The festival is set up around the tubing area and the fire, and none of the listed activities depend on open trails.

Here is the schedule Roundtop has posted:

  • 4:00 p.m. Gates open, with raffle tables, photo stations, paintball and the start of the Viking helmet decorating contest
  • 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Live music by Holly and The Howlers
  • 6:00 p.m. The bonfire is lit
  • 6:30 p.m. The best decorated Viking helmet is announced

The drink list is mostly Tröegs, which brews just up the road in Hershey. The draft trailer lists PA Lager, Perpetual IPA, Graffiti Highway IPA, Blizzard of Hops IPA and Double Blizzard DIPA. A separate Mad Elf blending station mixes Mad Elf, Dreamweaver and PA Dark Lager. Irish coffee and peppermint hot cocoa round out the drinks. For food, there's a Weaver's of Wellsville tent and the Tubing Lodge food court, which sells chicken fingers, veggie burgers, pizza, fries, soft pretzels and funnel cake.

Opening day is the one date that hasn't been set

On August 18, 2026, Vail Resorts released its 2026/27 opening dates. The list ran from Keystone in October to Kirkwood and Stevens Pass on December 4. Roundtop wasn't on it. The release said more resort dates would be announced in the coming months and that all openings depend on weather and conditions. In the same announcement, the company said it was planning "an aggressive approach to snowmaking" ahead of a winter that forecasters have linked to a Super El Niño.

OnTheSnow's projected openings table lists December 12 for Roundtop. The site says some of the dates in its table aren't official or final, so treat December 12 as an estimate. If that estimate holds, Ullr Fest would happen a week before the first lift runs.

Snow tubing hasn't been scheduled either. As of October 20, Roundtop's tubing page still showed hours labeled 2025-26, said tubing was closed for the season and said tickets weren't available. If tubing is your family's main reason to go, check that page again once Roundtop announces its opening.

The winter calendar as it stands

These are the dates Roundtop has posted, with the one projected date marked:

Friday, February 19, 2027 Roundtop Rail Jam Throwdown Terrain park Posted

After the Ullr Fest bonfire, most of the posted events land on Friday nights.

Friday nights in January and February

Friday Night Lights @ Roundtop runs from January 8 through March 5, 2027, at the base of Minuteman. It's free with your lift ticket, and the base area has a DJ and giveaways. Roundtop's night skiing page calls the series Dew After Dark and mentions a live DJ, Mountain Dew samples and exclusive swag. Two of those Fridays, January 22 and February 19, also have the Roundtop Rail Jam Throwdown in the terrain park.

If you want a sit-down meal instead of something from the food court, Fireside Lounge is on the top floor of the Main Lodge. Its page lists hours of 4 to 9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, plus a Thursday deal of three tacos for $12. Hours and specials can change once the season opens.

Roundtop also lists four other places to eat on the mountain. The Main Lodge Food Court has wraps, pizza, salads, sandwiches, soup and chili. The Coffee Shop covers coffee and breakfast. Mountain View Lodge sells hot dogs, pizza and hot cocoa. The Coop, formerly The Smokehouse, is an outdoor spot serving sauced chicken tenders, carnival food and local beer by a firepit. As of October 20, The Coop's page still said it was closed for the season.

Paying for a Roundtop-only winter

Roundtop doesn't sell a pass of its own. Its pass page lists five Epic products: Epic Pass, Epic Local Pass, Epic Day Pass, Northeast Value Pass and Northeast Midweek Pass. Each one also covers other resorts, and you pay for that access whether or not you use it. For someone who only skis in Lewisberry, the main decision is how little extra access you can get away with buying.

Here are the prices listed on epicpass.com as of October 20, 2026:

Pass Adult price Other listed prices Roundtop access
Epic Pass $1,169, ages 31+ $929, ages 13–30; $599, ages 5–12 Full season
Epic Local Pass $869, ages 31+ $689, ages 13–30; $455, ages 5–12 Unlimited
Northeast Value Pass $704, ages 18–64 $529, teens 13–17 or seniors 65–79 Unlimited
Northeast Midweek Pass $529, ages 18–64 $400, seniors 65+ Weekdays

The Northeast Value Pass covers 21 resorts and gives unlimited access at Roundtop. At $704 for an adult, it costs $165 less than the Epic Local Pass. The Northeast Midweek Pass takes another $175 off but limits you to weekdays at Roundtop. Most Friday Night Lights dates fall on weekdays, so the midweek pass is worth comparing if Friday nights are your main ski nights. Check the pass terms for blackout dates before you count on any specific Friday.

If you'll only go a handful of times, the Epic Day Pass lets you buy 1 to 7 days. You choose from three access tiers: all resorts, 32 resorts or 22 resorts. Roundtop's own page says the 22-resort tier is the best choice for people who only want to ski Roundtop. As of October 20, the one-day selector showed $147 for an adult all-resort day. Choosing 22 resorts took $75 off that, and adding peak dates cost $28 more.

Vail set two price increases this fall, one after September 7 and one after October 7. Both have passed, so the prices above already include them. Epicpass.com doesn't list a date when 2026–27 pass sales end, so check the live pages before you buy.

Lessons with dates that come before Friday Night Lights

Group lessons at Roundtop usually don't include a lift ticket or rentals. You can add both at a discount when you book a group lesson. The one-hour 5 p.m. group lesson is listed at $69 for adults, or $55 with Epic Mountain Rewards. For children ages 7 to 12, it's $79, or $63 with the rewards discount. Child group lessons cover ages 4 to 12, and kids are grouped by age and ability.

The multi-week programs book up earlier. Registration for the 2026–27 seasonal programs opened in September. Mountain Explorers is for skiers and snowboarders ages 7 to 15 who can ride a chairlift and get down a green trail on their own. Sessions run on Saturdays or Sundays in January or February, mornings or afternoons. Ski With A Pro is for adults 18 and older who are comfortable on blue trails, in two-hour sessions. Lift tickets, rentals and lunch aren't included.

In the meantime, paintball runs through November

The hill is open before winter starts. Roundtop Paintball's 2026 season runs from April through November. It's open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and groups of 10 or more can reserve on weekdays. Paintball is also on the list of things to do at Ullr Fest on December 5, after the regular season ends.
